2013 Disciples Women’s Spiritual Life Retreat: Sept 6-8

Here is what you have been asking for: Retreat Registration is now open.

The theme is Shine! and will feature reflections of Rev. Trish Standifur—a child of the Beckley First Christian Church, now pastor of Bullittsville Christian Church in Burlington, KY. We will be blessed by many wonderful opportunities for worship, learning, and fellowship throughout the weekend.

Our Service Projects will be in support of the Hospice and of the Minnie Vautrin China Fund, honoring the life and legacy of a great Disciples missionary. Let’s encourage one another to start now raising funds and stitching lap robes for these very worthy projects which will touch the lives of many at home and far away.

I urge you to prepare prayerfully for the offerings received at the retreat for Blessing Boxes (1/2 goes to Disciples Mission Fund and 1/2 to the Office of Disciples Women), World Hunger (directly supports hunger relief through Global Ministries), and the Love Gift, which will support the vital works of mercy done by Church World Service on behalf of the whole Church. In addition, you may want to bring a few dollars for the bookstore or to bid on a basket.

All this is very exciting to me, but of course the most important part of retreat is you! Get your registration in. The easiest way is to visit http://www.wvdisciples.org and register online. You can pay for your retreat by credit card or PayPal, or mail a check directly to the regional Office. We’re offering an Early-Bird Discount ($20 if you register by Aug. 8).
