Disciples from around the Region will be joined by their friends from around the General Church for a unique weekend.  Those who desire to may want to schedule an early arrival Thursday for a fun golf scramble near Bethany at 10 a.m.  We will resume with the Regional Minister’s Reception at Mountainside Conference Center’s Harder Hall.  Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served, along with generous hospitality and conversation.  These tables are a great place to catch your breath after travel, and connect with friends.

Friday will begin at a table, as well.  A continental breakfast will be provided at the Bethany Memorial Church, where we will orient ourselves to the work of mission as we are led by Vy Nguyen, Director of Week of Compassion, and Larry Grimes, our Regional Moderator.  A lunch will be available for your convenience on the grounds of the Campbell Mansion, and following lunch, tours will be available for Historic Bethany sites, departing from there.  In addition, workshops will be provided at the church, and a Run/Walk/Crawl for Missionwill begin.  The evening fare is the annual All Saints Dinner, an important occasion to lift up and support the All Saints Fund of the Regional Church.  We will have a unique worship and communion experience at the Old Meeting House, with minimally accompanied and a cappella singing.  It’s a beautiful place to end the day with God’s people.

Saturday will be the One-Day visitor’s dreamSaturday morning begins with a (continental)Justice Breakfast at Harder Hall, and recaps of where the church is going to follow Jesus in mission, here and around the world.  Vy Nguyen will join the Regional Minister to update ourprogress on flood relief, and the WV Council of Churches will be with us to carry that discussion into matters of advocacy and action around the state. You will participate in all the assembly fellowship and business, but then linger afterMen’s and Women’s luncheons for the dedication of the new Disciples of Christ Historical Society Archives Building, located at the Renner Visitor’s Center on the Campbell Mansion grounds.
