WV Disciples Online

The ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in West Virginia is supported by your gifts to Disciples Mission Fund.

Marvelous Disciples Men’s Retreat
The WV Disciples Men’s retreat last weekend was a great encounter, and one that will be held dear in the minds of many.  We give thanks for Archie Jenkins’ leadership, along with that of our Men’s Commission, and Coordinator, Joel Potts.  Looking forward to days to come!

Buffalo Seminary:
Dr. Thurston Explores the Christian Contemplative Tradition

Exploring the Christian Contemplative Tradition: Attitude Not Activity
with the Rev. Dr. Bonnie B. Thurston
at Bethany College, October 24-25, 2016

We will begin Monday afternoon by thinking together about the theology of Christian prayer and then explore one trajectory of contemplative prayer in the Christian tradition. Instruction will be given for experimental, contemplative time Monday evening. Tuesdaymorning will begin with discussion of the evening’s experiment, and, as time permits in the day, there will be practical teaching of one or two methods of contemplative prayer.
